What is the Laura Ridley Newborn Experience?
1. Book in
Email or call me to book in your session. You will have a tentative booking in my calender which is moved to suit you once baby is born.
2. Keep in touch
Once your baby is born, we will schedule your session so that baby is between 7-14 days.
3. The portrait session
This is where the magic happens! Newborn sessions take up to 2 hours in our cosy home studio and we aim to arrange them within the first 2 weeks of life. We will capture all those gorgeous newborn details, expressions and all the newborn cuteness.
4. The design & ordering appointment
See your photos for the first time! Choose your favourite photos for your digital collection and choose to add on album and or wall art.

We have been photographing families and newborns for more than 16 years! Our priority is the safety of your gorgeous bubba and then to capture unforgettable memories.
We will handle your baby like they are our own and with the utmost care, ensuring your session is safe, stress free and enjoyable.
We also want to ensure your memories are safe to! We back up your session following the shoot to a state of the art cloud based system. All files are also backed up on an external hard drive for added redundancy. Your shoot is backed up indefinitely and can access your images at any time.

Hi, I’m Laura! I am a mum of three – for the past 15 years, I’ve been creating award winning photographs which adorn the walls of my clients homes and are proudly shared with family and friends.
There’s nothing I love more than capturing those first precious weeks of a baby’s life. These weeks pass by so quickly, I want every parent to be able to look back on these moments and re-live these first few weeks through the photos that we capture together.

FAQs
No worries! We totally understand that babies will come whenever they are ready, and so we book in a floating space for you in our calender so that we know to leave room for you. Once baby is here, let us know, and then we will arrange your session.
I honestly know the feeling. Having 3 myself, I didn’t feel very human until weeks after my babies were born. I offer a relaxing comfortable environment where you can sit on the comfy couch and just relax while I photograph your gorgeous new baby.
It’s all good! We know parents absolutely adore awake photos of their baby. There is no pressure for anything from your baby in a session with us. As long as we can aim to have a calm settled baby, sleepy or awake won’t matter to your session. Hopefully your baby will do a little bit of awake and asleep during their session for variety. The main thing is to never put any expectations on your sweet baby and how their photos will look from their part.
I have more than 10 years in Newborn Photography including extensive training in posing and safe handling of your precious newborn.
From the moment we start handling your baby, we are watching your baby and making sure they are comfortable and safe.
No two sessions are the same. We will be guided your baby and how they are settled on the day.
I’m fully vaccinated and we also ensure the studio is cleaned and all props sanitised before your session. We have a heat pump and heater in our studio to keep your newborn warm and snugly.
No need to bring much at all. We have all the outfits and props used in most photos.
Bring extra bottles & a dummy if you are using them.
Anything sentimental or cultural you’d like to include in the photos is completely up to you. We’ve seen pretty much everything and we are happy to accomodate whatever you’d like in your photos.
Absolutely. We offer 12 Months Interest free with Gilrose Finance. The best thing about using this option is that you can pay your order off over a year and take your photos as soon as they are ready!
